Woden Needs You on Its Team
The storytellers at Woden are growing their ranks and we’re looking for a manager, two associates, and an intern.
We are a small group of people in a laid-back office of folks who like to overdress. To fit in well, you should be a team player, comfortable in an open office, and share our love for team communication tools like Ryver over e-mail. Coming on day one with a bunch of great GIFs to share would be a big plus.
Woden is Philadelphia’s storytelling agency. We work with brands big and small to help them develop their narrative, give their products a personality, and integrate that messaging into everything they do from internal communications to digital marketing to social media to traditional marketing. We even write full-length books for our clients!
Our internships, while unpaid, offer a stipend for travel and Wawa (which is down the block from the office). Associate pay is in the $35K-$40K-plus range depending on experience. Manager pay is based largely on experience and what you bring to the table.
Here are the details of the specific opportunities:
Storytelling Chief (Manager)
We’re looking for a tremendous writer, researcher, and editor to work in our office in Center City Philadelphia. The right person for this job has a knack for language and narrative style, and can churn out everything from blog posts to white papers — all while writing in the client’s voice. There are no pure managers at Woden, so you’ll be writing some of the higher-priority narratives for our clients. But your skill set will be in developing and coaching our writers and directing and editing their work.
Research is a big component of this work, so you should have the ability to help team members identify reputable sources and incorporate them into our writing. Experience in content marketing and knowledge of social media platforms for posting, audience building, and advertising would put the best candidates for this job to the head of the pack. If you’ve got clips writing for reputable publications, and have client-facing experience and polish, you need to join our team!
Want the job? Send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org with a note explaining why you’re a good fit, a resume or listing of your experience, and a few examples of your published work and the results from it.
Social Media Pro (Associate)
We’re looking for someone who can’t imagine communicating any way other than over social media. If you’re the right fit for the job, you’ve got a proven track record of creating compelling social posts that engage audiences, you’ve used paid social advertising to build audiences and promote content in a way that generates measurable results, and you can harness analytics in real time to optimize campaigns.
Deep knowledge of Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, Medium, Tumblr and Pinterest are a must. No one uses Google+, so don’t worry about that. (Or, convince us otherwise.)

Graphic Designer (Intern)
We’re looking for a college student who is studying visual media or graphic arts, and is looking for some real-world application of his or her skills. If you have the chops to design logos, graphics for social media, printed collateral, and other basic items, we’d like to meet you!
Our agency does not focus primarily on graphic work, so expect this to be a “utility infielder” type position. You’ll be the person to pitch in and help our creative director with any odds and ends for client work. Yes, you’ll be working on real client work!
We need you to be available for a good piece of Thursday and/or Friday to work from our Center City Philadelphia office, as well as be available in the office or remotely for a few hours at least two other days.
Think this is the right internship for you? Head to our website, download our Guide to Storytelling, and improve its visual presentation. Send your work in PDF form to email@example.com, along with some other examples of your design chops and the times you’re available to work.
