Rocket.Chat Raises Series A Round

Woden client Rocket.Chat announced today that it has raised a $19 million Series A funding round. The open-source chat platform, based in Brazil, closed the new round after a year when reliable online communication tools became essential to just about every business worldwide.

Since launching in 2015, Rocket.Chat has raised $27 million in total funding. It was after one of those early rounds that the platform engaged Woden to help develop a story that differentiated it from other team communication platforms.

The company offers a secure group chat app as well as communication solutions for things like customer service and conferences. Rocket.Chat’s early product was entirely open-source; Woden helped craft the message around its paid offerings, and the blueprint to align that holistically with culture, customer experience and growth strategies.

Woden partnered with Rocket.Chat to identify a market suffering from segmentation and division: those who relied on siloed communication platforms which threatened to undermine their own goal of bringing people together.

With Woden’s help, Rocket.Chat delivered to its customers (which have included financial institutions, the U.S. Navy and the University of California, Irvine) a way of working across platforms, technologies and barriers to unite communications in a secure way.

Woden congratulates Rocket.Chat on its growth and is honored to have played a role in its success.
